We are also honored to be hosting Army SPC Andrew Smith, his wife Tori & their dog Champ at the Tennessee Titans game today! SPC Smith, originally from Chatanooga TN, joined the Army in June of 2010. He married the woman of his dreams on December 23rd, 2011 before moving out to Fort Bragg, NC where he was stationed with the 82nd airborne division. On February 21st, 2012, Andrew was deployed for the first time & sent to Afghanistan. Just 15 days into his deployment on March 8th Andrew stepped on an IED (improvised Explosive Device) and suffered severe life threatening abdominal injuries and lost both of his legs. Upon his arrival back to the States, Andrew fought for his life & his wife, Tori, never left his side. He spent time at Walter Reed Army Medical Center recovering from his injuries & learned to walk with his new prosthetic legs. Andrew & Toris faith has helped them thru the tough times. By the grace of God, Andrew is back home, he recently had a customized accessible home built for him in His hometown of Chattanooga, TN by the great organization Steps2Hope! Andrew spends his time in his community giving back as much as he can. He enjoys spending time on the golf course & loves time with his wife & Dog Champ. Andrew never gives up & believes nothing is impossible. He is a true inspirational hero! We have had the opportunity to host Andrew at events in the past. I have never met a more optimistic kid. He always wears a smile on his face and is thankful for every day. Im honored to call him & Tori friends. You can get inspired by Andrew on his road to recovery by following his Facebook page Team Andrew Smith. While youre there, make sure to thank Andrew for his service & Tori for always being there to support this brave warrior! We look forward to making their #WarriorWishes come true at the titans game!
