We are both human and divine. When however, we become obsessed with bodily functions or non-functions, and believe that the bionic-suit is the extent of who we are, we are like a captivated caterpillar delaying its butterfly status because it is so engaged with its restrictive cocoon. Here’s what Sri Swamiji says: “The blood flow helps the body, not the soul. The life force may leave the body anytime. What is the meaning of this body, this life, this living, dying, hospitals, diseases, and so on? Great souls simply go away to the Himalayas where there are no hospitals, no aspirin, no relatives, no clothes, nothing. What do they have? They are not concerned about their bodies, or about sun, rain and so on. We are too attached to our bodies and get overly concerned. We must give up that attachment.” Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji in the morning after Shiva abhishkema on Karthika Somavara – November 3, 2014 – Mysore”
