We are excited to announce that Post Modern Sleaze has officially confirmed that she will be performing at the Austin International Drag Festival! If you have not yet witnessed her artistry, you are in for a real treat! Painter and Visual Media Artist POST MODERN SLEAZE is a Native American from the Four Corners Reservation. Post Modern Sleaze, is a member of the Dine Tribe, born into the Kiyaaani (towering House) and Dibe Izhiini ( black Goat) clans. At the age of 18, she left the Reservation to become an explorer, choosing to immerse herself in the urban city life while never letting go of the strong roots, background and context provided by her culture. As an Artist that can inhabit the Cultural Underground of the Urban Jungle, I rely on shock appeal to grasp the attention of the onlooker. I have realized and learned to explore the intangible counterpoint of being very Loud but Silent to achieve a level of Communication only certain members of the audience will be able to hear. My Culture has been, is and will always be a big inspiration to my Creations. Because of the unimaginable damage to the collective consciousness of the two Generations before me, I am the Conduit of a certain Anger that gives me a Rebellion and a Freedom to display and express what others will not show or say.
