We are excited to announce that we have entered into an agreement with our local Chamber to provide an Aviation Maintenance Program at GSTC. We plan to begin instruction in 2015. Currently the position of Instructor in the Aviation Maintenance Program is open through the Escambia County Schools Web Site. Job Qualifications: A minimum of six years full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience in aircraft mechanics occupations. Applicants must also have Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications in Airframe Mechanics and Powerplant Mechanics. Duties and Responsibilities: Implementation of the Aviation Maintenance Program, including the acquisition of equipment, learning materials, and other resources used for instruction. This position also includes preparing a facility for FAA certification. Instructional duties will include providing instruction for students in Airframe and Powerplant mechanics, preparing students to obtain FAA certification in these areas, and assisting students with employment opportunities. Additional duties include developing and maintaining industry partners, implementing a program advisory council, and working closely with the administration to maintain and update the program as needed.
