We are far beyond capitalism. Capitalism implies an even playing field for businesses and it is far from even. Farm aid goes to big corporations, labeling laws for small organic farms is oppressively expensive, big corporations get tax breaks and tax shelters not available to the small business owner who has a greater percentage of his operating costs going towards complying with government paperwork. It takes at least one full time person to comply whether you have one employee or 1000 employees. George McGovern retired from government and bought an ongoing bed and breakfast and it went bankrupt. He used to be the head of the small business bureau in Congress. His comment was "If I had any idea what it was truly like to be a small business, I would have never passed all those laws." Its gotten a whole lot worse, George.
