We are getting ready to head into Elis 23rd surgery and his 5th surgery this month. Its going to take a bit longer than we originally thought. The neurosurgeons are going to replace the shunt in his brain, the PICC team is going to place a new PICC line because the one he has keeps migrating up into his jugular, and the plastic surgery team is going to see if there is anything they can revise to close up his back surgery site more (there are 3 areas that have opened up due to the pressure from his spinal fluid leaking). So it will probably be about 4hrs long instead of 2. He is still scheduled to go into surgery at 10:30 but we are hoping they will take him in a little early. Hes in good spirits this morning and was very concerned that the dr wrote on his forehead...lol... All prayers and happy thoughts are appreciated. We are very thankful that they made an exception and allowed Sky to stay here with us last night so she can be with Eli before surgery. She is still sleeping...even with all the commotion in the room...I wish I could sleep like that
