We are happy to announce that our patent for the compartmentalized anaerobic digester was finally approved yesterday after three years! Now onto the real work. For those who do not know the particulars, our small farm digesters recycles farm wastes (manures and plant parts) plus recycled wastes from the food industry into a rich fertilizer while generating biogas (containing methane) in the process. The gas can be used for cooking or heat, but we intend to use it to remove further harmful pathogenic bacteria from the fertilizer in a biogas-fired pasteurization unit. Twill be the champagne of organic fertilizers we hope! It converts waste to wonderful crops! The new invention company name is Penergy Solutions in honor of the Penn State student teams we supported who helped in the prototype development and the pig pen we have that feeds the digester and the clean energy source it generates.
