We are happy to introduce our FREE 5 DAY WEEK after school - TopicsExpress

We are happy to introduce our FREE 5 DAY WEEK after school program! The OST (Out of School Time) After School Program at IS34 is run by United Activities Unlimited. The program is limited to the first 110 students that sign up. There are still a few spots left! See below for details on how to sign up! This free, brand new afterschool program focuses on providing students with engaging academic, recreational, civic, and cultural activities. The goal of this program is to reinforce, enhance, and expand skills and learning opportunities, as well as develop the participants’ personal interests and talents. The children will participate in fun and innovative activities that promote academic enrichment, the arts, fitness, and other developmental pursuits. Our education specialists are eager and excited to teach, guide, and assist the students. Participants will also be given a nutritious meal every day. The program will begin tentatively on September 15, 2014 and end on June 26th 2015. It is operational Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 6:00pm, and on some holidays from 8:00am to 6:00pm. OST will function on a first come first served basis, with up to 115 slots readily available. However, there is a waiting list for those who do not secure an immediate slot. The OST program requires 80% participation, which means that each participant must attend 4 out of 5 days in order to maintain their slot. Those who do not meet the participation criteria will be asked to leave so that someone on the waiting list can join. If these standards are not met, the OST could lose its funding. Children may be picked up at any time after 5:30pm, but no later than 6:00pm. If you are interested in this program, visit our school website is34.org for the application. You will need proof of address, a medical signed and stamped (valid within the year) and a copy of the Birth Certificate. We will start collecting applications tomorrow during all lunch periods.
