We kindly extend to you this invitation to participate and exhibit our products and services at the Africa Pavilion in the Global Village during the Dubai Shopping Festival, which will officially commence on the 6th November, 2014 and end on 11th of April, 2015. You may take advantage of this massive market for publicity or marketing and sales in this extra-ordinary International Exposition extending 157 days. Its like setting-up shop without a license in Dubai for all that time! A wonderful chance for all the industrial and commercial institutions of our great nation and for every businessman and woman of our great country Kenya to try to utilize. The Global Village is unlike any other trade fair, where over 65 countries in 30 pavilions grasp this unique opportunity to showcase their National Identity and sell their products to the rest of the world. During the last event in 2013-14, over 5 million visitors were counted entering the gates of Global Village and witnessed 12,000 mesmerizing shows and experienced a wonderful shopping galore in different country pavilions. This year we expect more to come. Every year, the Dubai government promotes and markets itself to the rest of the world through the Dubai Shopping Festival. People come to visit Dubai from every where and Emirates Airlines, their national carrier, flies them in from the four corners of the Earth. The star and main attraction over the past 18 years has been the Global Village where the Dubai government allows other nations from Asia, Europe and Africa to congregate in on one area, construct individual pavilions designed to represent their national products, heritage or famous landmarks and showcase themselves. Only few African countries have so far managed to participate due to the enormous costs involved in putting up a fully fledged pavilion. This year, and for the fourth time, we are organizing and coordinating the Africa Pavilion to allow as many African nations from the sub-Sahara to participate and be represented. We especially focus on various representative boards concerned with trade, investments and tourism from the private as well as the public sector. Dubai is one of the wonders of the modern world. A decade ago the sand was the ruler of this emirate located on the edge of the Arabian desert with no discernible natural advantages. Nowadays the sand has been dethroned by the luxurious futuristic skyscrapers and the exclusive cozy villas scattered around the coastline. And all this thanks to the vision of Dubai’s ruler – Sheikh Mohammed and the belief in his subjects in his idea to turn his country into the center of International trading and tourism. His logic is simple: “if you build it, they will come”. The audacity of the city’s ruler is breathtaking. Running out of coastline to build hotels? Build vast artificial islands with 120Km of new beachfront. Need better connections with the world. Build up an award winning- international airline in 15 years. From within these high standards of luxury and convenience, visitors can experience exotic Arabia in the bustling souks or a night in a Bedouin tent with belly-dancing under the starlit desert skies, as well as a way of life that is still embedded in the Islamic traditions of an ancient land. Dubai’s attraction lies in the contrast between the ultra modern and the enchantingly traditional, which gives the city a personality like no other and visitors a variety of experiences to choose from. From desert Oases and unspoiled beaches, camel races and old wind towers, to top-class shopping opportunities, avant-garde architecture and the finest international cuisine, Dubai has more than enough depth to satisfy even the most seasoned of travelers. Dubai plans to be the single most important re-export centre in the world. Dubai produces nothing but sells everything to the rest of the world. Foreign direct investments flow into Dubai to the tune of 33 billion US dollars every year and all the major commercial and financial companies on the planet have offices in this buzzing metropolis. In the next few years Dubai hopes to attract upto10 million tourists a year and if only a million of these visitors notice our nations and national products there, the promotion would be priceless! Africa is one of the richest continents on earth and its resources and potential have not yet been fully realized because Africans have not yet mustered the courage to go out and expose, market and sell themselves abroad. Many African governments are busy allowing other nations to come to Africa to sell their wares and take away our hard earned foreign currency. African governments and businessmen and women need to go out there and market Africa and sell and bring cash back to our countries to build our nations or draw in investors to create wealth for our people. The Global Village in Dubai provides such an opportunity and is an excellent platform to launch a sales or marketing drive into the entire region and beyond. Key priority areas are increasing market access for National products, attracting capital inflows, enhancing technological advancement and raising Countries profile as a centre for multilateral and conference diplomacy. A single ready-to-exhibit booth in the Africa Pavilion measuring 9sqm costs only USD 6500/- for the entire duration of over 5 months ( 157 Days ).
