We are learning about early explorers in homeschool, this week we read about Vikings. We talked about how Vikings had a democratic society where women could own property and could go to battle and had equal rights to men. To contrast it we talked about how some societies wont even let women drive cars or have to hide their skin in public. You should have seen Ilahs face when I told her about that- her mouth dropped open and she said what?!. We talked about how important it is to live in a free and equal society and how lucky we are to live where we do. Ilah made a puppet show out of Viking coloring pages. She made a background and glued the pictures she colored to popsicle sticks. Then today we went to the Viking festival and saw many of there things that we talked about and read about in person. It was awesome!
