We are nearing the end of the first two weeks of PLTL!!!! And I - TopicsExpress

We are nearing the end of the first two weeks of PLTL!!!! And I would like to personally commend each team for all your efforts in making all of this possible. Your waking up early, your drive to Manila Polo, your training in between matches and all the adjustment to accommodate the games are for sure paying off in some positive way. In any sports event, there will be winners and losers but I am hoping, no matter what the scoreboard may show, we are all moving towards a positive direction in the physical and mental aspects of the game, in the bonds formed among our team mates and in the new ties (pun intended!) we have developed with our opponents in our brackets. Let us all give each other a big warm applause and a pat on the back as we move towards the 2nd round robin and more challenging matches of Group B and the more exciting A games as each team gets into their groove and improve. We do have some special requests that we’d like to make known. With the ties being more “leveled” and therefore tight, we are appealing to all captains to help maximize court availabilities and submit line ups as soon as it is apparent that a set is about to finish in one court. Costs are coming in a “taxi-meter” fashion so every minute indeed counts and every court left unused is wasted fundsL. It’s is not that easy to keep track especially on days with 8 teams to track, so please assist our tournament director in this endeavor. Please do not wait for TD to approach you or announce your teams’ namesJ .. Also, may we request that all concerns during play be addressed to our tournament director (TD), Marlon. Committee members are in Polo to represent their teams and “mentally” are trying to focus on their games.. We have agreed that TD’s decision during play is final and that any questions/protests regarding any tie should be lifted to PLTL committee via pltl2013@yahoo. The committee is also at this point laying the ground for the CLOSING CEREMONIES on Oct 18 , 2013 ( Yes, we are on schedule!) and we are hoping for a truly blessed event and hopefully one with clear skies. It has been a tradition to hand out raffle prizes during the closing ceremonies and so here I am, opening the opportunity for teams to bless one another. We have exciting prizes in store but the more, the merrier right? So here I am asking. If your team would like to donate a raffle prize for our closing event, please do let us know via emailJ. This is not a requirement and no one will pressure, check, nag or re-remind you of this. We just wanted to inform teams that we welcome any raffle donations. So for now, we are on schedule. Hallelujah. So block off that date ok, October 18, 2013. Many of us have been busy with the preparations, with the games and have not had a chance to meet others especially those not in our color bracket/grouping, so we are looking forward to the closing event to be able to do this as well. Lastly, as we summarize the results for the Group B 1st round robin, we shall be releasing the schedule (Mon - Wed, Sept 30 to Oct 2) f later within the day. We need get the results of 2 more tie dates (today and tom) in order to map out the rest of the week/and 4th week schedule of ties. May God Bless You allJ Donna Simpao
