The Enterprise Architecture team defines the strategy, technology and solutions that power the world’s largest electronics retailer. We are paving new ground and using the latest technologies to meet our needs. We are looking for a talented Enterprise Technical Architect to help drive our application architecture strategy, evaluate emerging technologies and define our standard technologies for the enterprise. There are multiple areas of specialization available such as mobile business applications, inventory, supply chain, POS, etc. In this role, youll work as the Architect of one or more of the most strategic retail enterprise initiatives. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: • As part of the Technical Enterprise Architecture team, you will oversee, review, guide and/or be hands-on helping develop a projects architecture. • The ability to switch between oversight, in-depth review and hands-on coding, when necessary. • In addition you are part of the team creating the technical standards for the company as well as the strategic directional roadmaps for the Enterprise organization. The Ideal Candidate: • The ideal candidate is passionate about innovative architecture, scalability, high availability, software quality, and developer productivity. • Were looking for that hands-on architect that can also step back and see the big picture and plan today’s work to intersect with the vision of the organization. • In addition, the candidate should be comfortable conducting technical discussions with architect, business, creative, and product management teams. • Finally, the candidate will need to present the future strategic direction and roadmaps to technical leaders, and stakeholders within the organization to clarify requirements, priorities, and gain buy-in from leaders. • The goal of Standards at the company is to enable development teams to move faster, improve quality and reduce complexity of the enterprise’s portfolio. • You will facilitate a team of hands on users of a given technology, in developing and evolving those standards over time. Experience Necessary For Effective Job Performance: • A demonstrated background in enterprise architecture • A demonstrated background in application architecture and distributed systems • A demonstrated background in Service Oriented Architecture and implementation • Creative and innovation-driven mindset with the ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability • Knowledge of modern development technologies: Java, .NET, web services (REST), NoSQL databases, continuous integration, and automated testing • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, OpenStack, Rackspace cloud, etc.) • Willingness to work flexibly including handling after-hours urgent work as well as normal working arrangements • Experience in Agile development methodologies • Persuasive written and oral communication skills • Passion for building top-quality products & services• Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional projects The Successful Candidate Will Have: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience. • 10 or more years of professional enterprise development experience • 6 or more years of professional software development or integration • 4 or more years in the role of Application, Solution or Enterprise Architect • 3 or more years of Test Driven Development or Behavior Driven Development or equivalent • 3 or more years of application or distributed systems architecture for highly scalable systems • Experience writing code in the last 12 months • Experience leading a project team, implementing Agile practices and/or mentoring other developers • Experience in mobile application development on multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Windows) • Experience in eCommerce systems • Experience in retail systems, supply chain, inventory, and content management • Should have strong understanding of integration with Oracle Finance modules. • Strong Leadership skills, be able to communicate very effectively in English and Spanish and lead design workshops and testing sessions with group size of up to 15 people. • Should be able to travel to United States to attend meetings and workshops.
