We are running a two day Outdoor 1st Aid training course at the Barn on Monday and Tuesday 2nd & 3rd of December. The course will focus on outdoor first aid but will suit anyone who wants or needs a 1st aid qualification. The cost for the course is £120 this includes all materials needed for the course and self catering accommodation at Lopwell Barn. As promised the details for the course are below. ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid – SQA Qualification (R084 04) Course Overview Interactive hands-on training is the hallmark of this course, designed for all those working in remote locations in the British Isles. Training and scenarios are based on being more than several minutes, and up to several hours from help or the rescue team arriving. The course is composed of 2 units for assessment, although the content from both units is typically delivered together, integrated throughout the course so that the course is relevant for, and aimed at, the outdoor worker from the moment candidates walk through the door. Comparing and contrasting what is different in the urban context when appropriate, giving the first aider a clear understanding of their first aid roles in urban and outdoor settings. ML, SPA, BCU, RYA, BOF, MIA, MIC etc. First Aid for The Outdoor Environment This qualification has been developed with the support of the SQA for the requirements of the worker or practitioner in Scotland’s outdoor environment. It is suitable for workers in the forests or glens of the Highlands & Islands and will maintain the license to practice for those with Outdoor National Governing Body Instructor awards. This course is recognised THROUGHOUT THE UK (Cornwall to Caithness), is used by many who are based abroad and is the course of choice for experienced practitioners who use the outdoors. ITC External Accreditation This qualification is accredited by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority). It is built by combining 2 mandatory units of assessment in one coherent training package. This is the only Outdoor First Aid qualification that is externally regulated and meets the standards to appear upon a national qualifications framework. - Unit 1 Emergency First Aid Skills (U081 04): This unit can lead to a qualification suitable for Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE) purposes and this additional certificate will be provided by request at the end of the course delivery. - Unit 2 First Aid for Outdoor Incident Management (U422 04): Completion of this unit content leads to the ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid qualification.
