We are sad to announce that we must cancel our Wesleys Warriors Clans and Fans event. It pains us as Wes loves soccer and we had so many fun plans to play with our friends for this gorgeous summer like week-end for all ages. Wes has the respiratory flu and is not getting any better. He has a condition that makes respiratory illnesses very tricky. We had hoped he would have started going to a few hours of school daily but this is a nasty bug and we cannot risk at all. We have to honor the reality that he had major surgery just a little over a month ago and we need some time to assure he is mending enough to enjoy and celebrate. When we were in Houston we had a very patient offer from our dear friends (love you Sheila Mutton Hutchings) and he was never quite well enough to get to NASA. Near the end of the trip he said Mom, I need to come back and go to NASA when I can enjoy the experience. I finally had to face reality and focus on simply helping him heal. We will honor those who contributed to this event by making Wesleys Art event an experience to remember. As soon as we have it all situated (soon!) we will get everyone rolling. Most of you who have talked to me may not realize that it takes everything I have to not cry in front of you. Most of the time they are good tears, sometimes they are exhausted tears but I still cry many times a day. Know that we are trying, trying so very hard to keep it together, to get our Wes and our family to where we need to be. We are so touched by the well wishes and love you have shown us. So... please celebrate what was to be Wesleys day and envelop yourselves in this gift of a gorgeous weather, and honor those you love and treasure. Enjoy your days, revel in this spectacular world. We are so blessed to have all we do.
