We are safely home in our lovely home in Scotland after a very good journey from Cochin via Dubai to Glasgow and then home. 2C when we reached here but a clear night with half moon and stars and a welcome cup of tea and then bed. It was a delight to be back in India for six weeks and we loved our time in Kerala to which we confined ourselves on this trip. Happy memories and beautiful photographs which I will process in due course into relevant galleries. For about a week one wakes very early still on India time with ones body clock so I am thinking of bright sunshine and bird calls, looking out on to the lake, watching fishermen going out at 06.30 hours before the sun rise.....the places coming awake. The prospect of warm swimming, good breakfasts, lovely people and the tranquillity and relaxation that a Kerala holiday brings I commend to anyone. But today means we go to watch a little granddaughter in her annual dancing concert in Edinburgh and that will be a delight and catching up with many of the others. Life resumes its normality after a wonderful six weeks in a special land. We wish India and all Indians well through the challenging few weeks ahead with the general election....I hope it passes off safely and responsibly for everyone. India stands as a beacon for democracy despite the usual cut and thrust of politics. In a time when the world is facing a potential danger in the north with people who are disregarding the will of a nation state India must rise above undemocratic uncivilized behaviour and let us hope the eventual outcome is just and good for all of India.
