We are searching for a progressive, self motivating employee with dairy farming assistant experience for our 350 cow , 120 hectare farm located five minutes from Patea. As Farm Assistant in this operation, as well as working along side farm owner applicants will be expected to be responsible for taking ownership of the farms management in the employers absence, and to be able to work unsupervised and carry out general farm duties e.g milking cows, stock handling, weed management, calf rearing, fencing and other general jobs. The key personal attributes required of the Farm Assistant include having a genuine passion and drive for furthering their career in the farming industry. We encourage and provide training and developement for this. This position could also suit a couple with partner to assist with calf rearing and milking.
