We are shocked that yet again a live exports lorry carrying sheep arrived at the Port of Ramsgate with injured animals. A four-tier transporter which wasnt stacked properly resulted in the legs of sheep falling through the side causing pain and lameness - this is unacceptable! The sheep, pictured below, should never have travelled on this faulty truck. Despite the authorities refusing the lorry to continue its journey at Ramsgate, we dont yet know how the rules were so easily flouted. We are grateful that Thanet Council allow our Inspectors into the port so we can be the eyes for the animals! Once again, the cruelty of this trade is highlighted.
