We are so grateful for all the love and support we have received this week! Starting daycare may seem like nothing for some people, but for us, it is life-changing. Jensen had to be shielded from other kids because we didnt want to risk him getting sick. Even a cold could land an HLHSer in the hospital. He has overcome many developmental delays but still faces many physical challenges and speech delays compared to kids his age. He also has sensory issues that makes everyday sounds, movements and emotions intensified. Daycare wraps all of these challenges into one germ-infested room! Its a lot for a kid like Jensen! He had a pretty terrible first day. It has been exhausting and frustrating for both of us. However, today he did better! It wasnt some magical overnight change of heart but he was more comfortable, more interactive and actually smiled and laughed at daycare! Tomorrow will hopefully be even better! I am so proud of Jensen and cant believe hes 2 months post-Fontan! Please continue to pray that this is a positive experience for him and that we make it through this week with continuing progress!
