We are taking a look back at some of the most memorable CHOP - TopicsExpress

We are taking a look back at some of the most memorable CHOP moments of 2014. In August, CHOP announced that it will develop a non-profit milk bank to provide donor human milk for hospitalized infants at the Main campus, with the goal of opening in late summer of 2015. CHOP has used donor human milk supplied from an off-site milk bank since 2006 for at-risk infants to supplement a mother’s own milk supply if it is insufficient or if she is unable to provide milk for her infant. At CHOP, human milk is not viewed as food- but a medical intervention - which is especially important for the critically ill infants treated in the Hospital’s neonatal/infant intensive care unit (N/IICU) and other intensive care units.
