We are told to NOT lean out of our vehicles when delivering mail, that if we cant reach it with our arm, to bring the mail back. (I would deliver very little if I followed this rule...) Due to our heavy snow fall, I am opening my door LOTS, and leaning out. Well, today, I fell out of the jeep. Yep, one minute, I was inside, the next I was being slowly dragged forward. When my butt slipped off the seat, my foot went off the break....and one leg snagged for a bit. I was thankful there was enough space between me and the snow bank to get of the way of the back tire. I had been told it is dangerous to have half your body out of the car IF a car should hit you. I never ever considered Falling Out! I know now... It was a slow motion weird experience. Seems like I am having a blonde like experience this winter as a Mail Lady!
