We are very close to Lagos, and we should be able to tap the opportunities that abound but our leaders have failed us; we have even failed ourselves and it will be a multiple tragedy if we continue to fail ourselves. You can imagine, there are some kinds of printing jobs you can’t do in Egba, not even in Abeokuta that seems to be the capital city, you have to go to Lagos before you get most of the printing jobs done. We have large expanse of land in Egba, I mean Ewekoro, Ifo, Odeda, Obafemi Owode, Abeokuta South and North Local Governments. My heart bleeds each time I remember this, good population, Iand mass, natural resources and some other things which I think are necessary for any state to thrive are all we have in abundance but we are not utilizing them. And I have made up my mind to be a change catalyst, though it will not happen at once, it will take a gradual process. I have been able to register a company which I intend to use to propel this; the Company is EGBA ECONOMY INVESTMENT COMPANY (EEIC). The company profile of EEIC can be found at its corporate website, eeic.ng. I have also created an association which I call EGBA BUSINESS CONNECT, It is a kind of social-economic club. The registration of the club with the CAC is on, it will be a platform for people of like minds who are basically young entrepreneurs to come together, rub minds and pool resources together. With EEIC, We will organize a number of events which will add value to the economy of Egba land and Nigeria at large, we have Olumo Rock, Lisabi groove, the Kampala Market, and even the first Church in Nigeria. If we can rebrand these places, we will make a lot of profit from there. What we are about to do now is place branding, we are going to create events that will make the rest of the world to reckon with Nigeria. In Saudi Arabia, they branded their place, in Jerusalem, they branded their place and that is why there economy is booming. If hosting the world is a crime that is what we are going to do at EEIC, and thereby make ease the destination of choice for foreign investors. And one of those events we want to create is the official launching of what we call “BEAUTIES OF EGBA LAND” which will be coming up on the 31st of August in Abeokuta. You can see the details informatioin at the official website of the events, which is beautiesofegba.ng. We are looking up to corporate organization within and outside Egbaland, Small Medium and Large to partner with us. By placing their advert on the official website of the event and some other media, which will be presented later. There are lot of people who are indigenes of Egba land that are doing well in Europe and even America; we will bring them home to invest. We are looking at 25 industrialists who are from Egba. We want to honour them and while doing this, we will be challenging them to invest a minimum of 1 billion naira in Egba. They will register themselves as apostles of the new face of the EGBA HALL OF FAME where their pictures and names will be engraved on the walls and on the walk ways or drive ways, their footprints will be etched into solid concrete as they do in the Hollywood walk of fame so that the future generation will actually stand on the footprints of these idols who have made history and aspire to be like them. This will be the true representation of the adage “LEAVING YOUR FOOT PRINT IN THE SAND OF TIME” It is eternal, that is, it can never be eroded. We are also ensuring that there will be a very big dinner of international standard where the President of the Federal Republic Nigeria, P M of U K and other prospective investors will be present and from the moment, we will start to document the projects when complemented on major news channels including C N N. It is actually going to be a continuous process because when these 25 people key in and use their success and goodwill, others will be encouraged to come in but they may not have the kind of opportunity the first set of people will have as intiators. As for youth development, we are looking at entertainment, sports, ICT and some other channels. As for entertainment, we are going to set-up a world class record label in Abeokuta. With this we will promote entertainment in Egba, the late Dagrin was an indigene of Egba land, and he was in Abeokuta for a period of his lifetime before he left for Lagos when he could not get a reliable promoter. Lyrical sheyman is another indigene of Egba land that is doing well in Lagos. We have a lot of youths who can do well than D’banj, 2 face, and what have you, if given the chance to. We are going to showcase them to the world and promote Egba land in return. As for sport, we are going to establish an amateur football league and organize an international football cup as we have DANA CUP in Denmark. With this, we intend to promote, brand and showcase Egbaland to foreign investors. We are already discussing with some football scouts in Europe, America, and the Middle East. As for ICT, we are going to establish an ICT Training center in all of the 6 local government that make up Egbaland, with this, we are going to train our youth on every aspects of ICT ranging from programming, software development, website development and so on. The training will be 100% free. We are already discussing with some NGOs in USA that will sponsor this. Thereafter, we will set up a world class ICT Park, Delta State is already building one. We have come to realize that it takes skills and not degree not even an MBA to make expectional wealth, so we want to establish a Technical and Vocational Training Center, which will be NABTEB Certified. Later, the Vocational Training center will be upgraded in to full fledge University; it will be modeled after Texas Technical University. But ours will be EGBA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, It will be relief for the less privileged, because we wont be doing it for profit. It wont be about money all your needs is to be exceptionally brilliant, have good IQ and EQ. We are also working on SMB (Small and medium enterprises) for youths. We are currently working on creating a hotspot so that internet will be accessible anywhere you are, all you need do is to but a recharge card from a store or wherever you can access the internet at a very subsidized rate. While looking at the hotspot., we can use facilities to train the youths to expose them to the entire world and also monitor the activities of the S M E benefactors. The SME is not going to be a bonanza project, we will be funding them but we will give them time to pay back and there will even be a moratorium of 3 month, and 12 months to pay back while it will be interest free. Which means they will have 15 month.
