We are very pleased to announce that this year Warwick Economics Society will be supporting ‘Effective Altruism’ alongside NPH international, Warwick Marrow and UNICEF. Effective Altruism is a movement that emphasises the importance of using evidence and reason to evaluate the best ways of improving the world. This involves things like making judgments about which charities we should support and donate to. Effective Altruism has a society on campus and we are looking forward to working closely with them in the coming year. Please get involved with their first great event of the term: THE EFFECTIVE ALTRUISM SOCIETY GIVING GAMES 6pm S0.19 The giving games are a fantastic initiative which raise both awareness and funds for some truly worthwhile causes. There will be a short introduction to a range of charities and after each person that attends will be given £10 to donate to one of the causes presented on.
