We at Genevieve Bond have been waging a private battle, but now that SO MANY of our friends and customers have asked whats going on in front of the store, I thought Id share with you our dilemma. The City of Chattanooga has granted the Forestcove apartments a permit for a permanent sign on the corner of East Brainerd Rd and Reserve Way DIRECTLY in front of our existing sign. In fact, it is less than 6 from the base and will not allow us to maintain our sign properly in the future. Once erected, it will be obstructive and will obviously block both the Genevieve Bond sign, as well the east side of the Forestcove sign. WE DONT GET IT. Is our system so FLAWED as to allow an out-of-state apartment conglomerate to adversely impact a local business...HERE, in Chattanooga. Weve called/emailed all of the decision-makers in Chattanooga and are still waiting for responses. We LOVE East Brainerd. We are proud of our store AND our community. Wed be proud to have your support...help us let the city know how we feel in East Brainerd.
