We at Micronesia Mart want to extend our sincere thanks to not only our fellow Micronesians but to all of you who have voiced as well as shown us support since the incident on Friday. It is very encouraging to know that we are not alone. A customer came in yesterday afternoon and made a very large purchase (over $200-worth, very rare for a mini-convenience store) and informed our sales clerk that he came in-support specifically because of the vandalism. My apologies for missing the opportunity to thank him in person, but to him and to those of you who came to visit us, thank you very much. The goal of any business is to make money, and Micronesia Mart is no exception. However, our philosophy here is we can make money at the same time give back our customers some of their money. This is no ploy; it is our mission to aid our fellow Micronesian as well as anyone willing to give us the chance. If you have the time, please visit us and you will find that we are about 10-30% cheaper than any mini-convenience store of our size: For example, 50# bag of Calrose rice is $27.49 (about the same at SAM’s Club); 12oz soda (coke, sprite, dr. pepper, etc.) 49cents; 500ml Arrow Hd water is also 49cents; Toothpaste (Aqua Frsh 5.6oz/Colgate 2.8oz) 99cents; VO5 Shampoo $1.49; Revlon Hair Color $2.99; case of chicken (22lbs leg quarters) $20.99; Turkey Tail (20#) $22.49; Corn Beef Ox&Palm $3.85; the list goes on. This has been the goal from the start—to provide a place where we can all call OUR own and where the prices are not dictated by big business/big GREED but by us and our standards.
