We at WSD are sad to see a Great man like Robin Williams take his own life due to depression. Every media outlet blew up with post or breaking news and once again the Politicians took to the camera to say how they were impacted by Robin Williams passing. This is Not a Rant about Robin Williams. But more of a rant for the fact that in the last year we have lost a handful of great actors/athletes/musicians,Yes losing someone like Robin Williams, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Harold Ramis, Maya Angelou has an impact on our life in an entertaining aspect every time we hear about it for days in the media. What you dont hear about is the 22 Veterans that battle a losing fight with depression and commit suicide everyday in that same year. But it needs to be more public knowledge that in that same year we have lost over 8000 Veterans to suicide. At WSD we offer Veterans the possibility to train a service dog, but we also welcome any Veteran to come out and be part of our group for nothing else then to be part of a group of people that can relate and understand the hardships a Veteran faces.
