We can confirm that a body found on Aberavon Beach at the weekend is that of missing woman Christine Humphrey. The body was discovered by a member of the public shortly before 1pm on Saturday 15th November. Mrs Humphrey, aged 54, went missing from her home in Western Avenue, Sandfields, during the early hours of Tuesday 11th November. Formal identification procedures were completed this afternoon and her family have been updated. Detective Inspector Trudi Meyrick of Neath Port Talbot CID said: “I would like to thank the media and members of the public who assisted in our appeals for information about Mrs Humphrey. “Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time.” The death will be investigated on behalf of HM Coroner.
