We congratulate the Essendon Football Club and the Western Bulldogs for their strong and swift responses to recent incidents of racial vilification in the lead up to National Reconciliation Week. Sport is about inclusion and racist attitudes have no place in Australia today. Reconciliation Australia supports the Australian Human Rights Commissions Racism. It Stops with Me campaign, which invites all Australians to reflect on what they can do to counter racism wherever it happens. We ask everyone to stand up against racism and reflect on what they can do to further reconciliation in their community this #NRW2014 and beyond. Together, let’s walk the talk.
