We did an exercise last week about what we believe in at Archively - TopicsExpress

We did an exercise last week about what we believe in at Archively and why we are doing what we are doing. One of the things we are very clear about is the importance of humans, our interactions and ability to communicate. To develop empathy. The things that make us human. We are interested in preserving the craft of the people businesses. I did some research last year about suicide and the stats would shock you. It is at epidemic levels in wealthy nations - the top killer of women in their 30s, and men in their 40s. Google it. Loneliness is a major factor and the inability to provide for ones family is another. I just watched this video : Humans Need Not Apply Robots are here and they are taking our jobs. Algorithms are replacing the skills of human intuition and out learning us, out creating us. This has some very serious implications on our future. We are talking about potential unemployment rates at 45%. Really. I suggest you watch all 15 minutes of the video. Everyone will come in somewhere on this topic. Most people are not thinking about it yet. But I will stand on the side of the humans. We need to think about the kind of world we want to live in. Not what is possible, but what is right, what is good. youtu.be/7Pq-S557XQU
