We did it! We got Brodys Dexcom (CGM) up and running! Im not going to lie..IT. WAS. AWFUL. Brody was all excited about putting his Robot button on after I tried to get him excited about it and had him watch a video of another little girl getting hers . And then I got the stuff out. And he started screaming. He ran and his behind daddy. And screamed No, away!!! My husband held him down to keep him from running while I put it on. The insertion part went very quick. I got it done as quickly as I could. He screamed horribly the whole time, I think mainly just not knowing what was happening. And then I had to click the transmitter into place. That is no easy task on a screaming , writhing two year old! It took me longer than anything else. Brody then refused to be put down the rest of the night. He wanted me or daddy to hold him. He kept saying button off!. But just before bed I think he finally forgot about it, or was so tired he just didnt care anymore! His numbers suck right now because he also has an ear infection and strep throat, and I may have to do a site change . But Ill do that in his sleep . Last I checked, his sugar had gone down and the Dex says hes dropping . As long as we can get insertions to go a little easier, this is going to be amazing.
