We end up having our own care giving agency anyway! We would always talk about having our own care giving agency someday! This dream has always been part of our conversation after arriving from days of work, either of my wife or me. Oftentimes, our conversation about this idea is triggered by our own frustrations from our employers – I mean, not the clients themselves but the agency we were working with. We always have this feeling that they don’t even care about us. We worked hard 24/5 a week but then they earn more than us. We would sacrifice not attending our kid’s recognition day or performance night yet when pay day comes our checks would bounce, even after already waiting for a week. Either of us has to work on holidays just to earn extra pay but would be surprised later on they don’t do that. Sad but it’s true! Reality would wake us up from dreaming! How can we start our own business if we don’t even have savings? We were even living paycheck-to-paycheck! Our monthly earnings would not even suffice to pay our bills. However, we did not let these problems take over our life. We would always wake up to the reality, still with smiles in our face. We have to stay positive and focused on what we are doing. We have to love what we are doing because that’s where we get our bread and butter. And of course, who would not love the elderly we are taking care of if we remember our parents and grandparents with them? Just think about the wisdom we could be learning from them, and having conversations with them is surely enjoyable and memorable. Enjoying what we do will always be felt by other people. Our passion was surely appreciated by our clients! In fact, a previous client of mine gave his car to me as a gift. This of course was with the approval of his son, whom we remained friend with and later on became our daughter’s godfather. This fortune did not just end there. Huge fortune and opportunities knocked on us once more. My wife’s client and her husband treated our family like their own. Kindness begets kindness! It’s always the golden rule that rules. When God had showered the blessings that one beautiful day, we got everything! These angels help us start our own care giving agency, of course, with approval from their two children without asking for anything in return from us. And that fortune includes securing our children’s future. Let me put it this way, now our children can study to any university of their choice even at this very moment. Thanks to our angels sent from heaven as well as to their children. Our own agency, The Caregivers of Miele Martis, LLC has just turned 1 on June 18, 2013. It was not an easy undertaking but we are trying our best to smoothen everything. Detractors are everywhere! Just keep believing. As we continue what we love to do, we are extending our blessings to caregivers like us. We tell them our story and they tell us theirs for a common inspiration. As we sail further, we are sailing together in unity with a common goal that is not to defeat the purpose of our existence today. Dreaming big things is not impossible! You just have to find happiness in everything you do added with hard work and a combination of humility and kindness. Every day, God showers his blessings upon us. We dreamt having our own care giving agency even we didn’t have capital on hand, but we end up having it. After a year, we are still debt-free and growing really fast. You will have yours too, anytime soon… just keep trying.
