We get asked about this a lot, so lets talk about movie sponsorships. The biggest cost involved in showing a movie is securing the legal right to do so--on the average, a blu-ray screening is in the $250-$350 range, and a 35mm film is about twice that. Having a sponsor pay for those costs enables us to put whatever proceeds come from the screening back into the theater itself. For their support, our sponsor gets credit on the theater marquee (usually for 1-2 weeks), as well as on our website, Facebook page & events, and any publicity we do. They can have the use of one of the poster boxes in the outer lobby, and if they have a good quality commercial, we will be happy to run it before their sponsored movie. The Eureka Theater is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so there might be some tax benefit, too (consult your financial advisor). And they receive the sincere gratitude of all of the hard-working volunteers at the theater, and the local movie-loving community. What we get: the chance to use this theater for its intended purpose--preserving the art of cinema and sharing the moviegoing experience. And we get to meet and work with a growing number of generous, community-minded, interesting, and FUN local supporters! If you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring an upcoming movie, contact us through Facebook, call us at 707-442-2970, or email us at [email protected]. And please SHARE this!
