We got a dusting of snow yesterday.....then the sun came out in areas.....my little mountain town remained socked in so I took a drive and found sun at Lake Dillion just outside Breckenridge... everything was quiet--it was a very peaceful morning. I love shooting early morning light-the dramatic shadows add so much bunch to an image...I tried to polarize this image but the sun is just out of the frame...so I could quite to the sky to grab.... ISO 100 300mm 1/125 @ f16 with a hoya glass polarizer. Post in CS6 mostly. I increased the warmth and contrast in Elements, then played with the loop and wand tools in photoshop choosing to lighten and darken areas of the shot to my liking. I also used curves to tone down the high key areas... I liked the subtle results-- polarized but quietly so... There was a bit of wind so I only added a horizontal layer of water to add to the overall aesthetic of the composition since I didnt have reflections to work with.... The lake is too big to really capture anyway, so I used it as a layer instead......
