We got the girls in finally... bout 3 days ago. We are still in the process of getting the film on the greenhouse so we had to wait until the 20th of June to be sure the usual chance of frosts had passed. We also had to be sure the soil temps were down from cooking. As they were. They were at 100 degrees still on 5/21 but by 6/12 they were down to low 70s with a ph of 6.8. shots to come. We were going to try and snap some today but it was raining pretty good, to good for the camera. Here are some shots of our TLO veg and flower spikes. The beds are 4x4 and there is 12 spikes per bed. 6 veg, 6 flower each spaced about 12 apart diagonally towards the corners. Each spike is a 1/4 cup. On the next shot the TLO High and Dry High N Topdressing was added. One cup was enough to give a light covering. Finally was the mulching. We ended up using partially composted wheat straw as a mulch for a couple of reasons. Excellent high carbon source. We have used it many times before, and its what is on hand. Reuse, reuse, reuse. This straw was covering the water pipes last year, and a temp straw bale tool shed the year before that. The irrigation was moved temporarily to the root ball area facing out to the corners, as to make sure the fresh up-planting gets plenty of water and settles in kindly before moving the water to more the drip line area.
