We had a grand day at the pool yesterday with thirty Pine Tree - TopicsExpress

We had a grand day at the pool yesterday with thirty Pine Tree School Kindergarten students taking group swim lessons with instructors Maury McKinney and Pat Libby. With kindergarten students being excluded from ESSC ski activities this winter Principle Aimee Frechette was looking for another worthwhile activity for her students to get involved in. Just like skiing, swimming is about fitness, fun, friends, and building skills that can positively impact students for a lifetime. Big thanks go out to assistant Pat Libby for hanging tough for 2.5 hours of in water support and to the teachers and parents from the Pine Tree School whose efforts made it all go so smoothly. One day we hope to engage all SAU #9 students on grades K-4 in swim lessons as part of their physical education program. That way all students leaving 4th grade will know how to swim. Another big thanks goes out to RENEWS (Roy Estey Network for Education & Water Safety and the Kiwanis Club of Mt. Washington Valley for providing financial support to this new and exciting program.
