We had a wedding shower for my son and future daughter in law - TopicsExpress

We had a wedding shower for my son and future daughter in law planned at The Office in San Carlos for this Saturday. On Tuesday, we were told that they would have to cancel it because of the Giants World Series game. In essence, they chose making money from the World Series over honoring the commitment they had made to us weeks ago for this shower. Invites had been sent out and on Tuesday, when THEY asked us to call to confirm the menu, they told us that they could not accommodate us...3 days before the party. At this point, trying to find another restaurant on such short notice was impossible, causing us to cancel the engagement shower. Included is my email to the woman who had been helping us: Vanessa, words cannot describe how disappointed I am with The Office for their blatant cancelling of this wedding shower. It had been planned for weeks and we were looking forward to being a part of the ambiance afforded by The Office. Unfortunately, being told on Tuesday that we could not have the shower at your facility this Saturday absolutely ruined the shower for my son and his fiance. The Offices rather blatant refusal to follow their commitment to us so that they could rake in money for the World Series is abysmal, at the very least. Based on what you did to us, you, being in the restaurant business, should very well know that it is impossible to find another restaurant with only 3 days notice. More importantly, Im sure you told Barbara, my future daughter in laws mother, that it was we who decided not to have the shower at your location, rather than the other way around. Ill be sure to post this adventure on Yelp and let everyone know how money trumps commitment. This comment rings hollow: Im sure the wedding shower and wedding itself will be filled with wonderful memories. The wedding shower has been cancelled and I am none too pleased. We had family coming into town for this event, but that doesnt matter....does it? Not that you need my money, but I can promise you I will never step into your business for any reason and further, Ill make sure this issue is posted on my Facebook account, so that everyone I know now knows how your company operates. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not that Im upset or anything...but those guys can go screw themselves and the horses they rode in on. Eff em...the effed up what was going to be a totally fantastic evening. May their karma come back to kick them in their ass.
