We had such an awesome weekend! two birthday parties, one wedding shower, and to finish it all off our annual talent show at church! Even though my person is exhausted, my spirit is full with sheer joy. This weekend we celebrated Sadies first birthday and reminisced the night we got the call that our friends Rachel Rose Stedham and Tripp Stedham got the call that the baby we had all prayed for had been born and we had 10 days to have her home ready! Talk about ready set go! It was just awesome to see their home transform to welcome their sweet little angel! what an honor and a blessing to have the privilege of walking through the valley of cancer with them to the mountain top of Sadies adoption! She partied Minnie Mouse style and she was precious to watch! We also celebrated the upcoming wedding of a special young lady at church, Haley Eidson! We met Haley on our very first mission trip to Jamaica in 2008. She was a breath of fresh air to watch her love and share Jesus with so many as a teenager. I remember she was working on a project for her photography class at school so she had taken a picture of two people clasping hands. One Jamaican and one American. It is a picture I will forever cherish in my memory. We also watched for her countless times as we watched the Georgettes perform at UGA football games. We rejoiced in her decision to become a missionary once she graduated, and now we pray for her upcoming marriage to her beloved Sean. Such a neat couple and we wish them the very best in their marriage! And last but certainly not least we attended the annual talent show at church! So much fun was had! I always love this night because its just a mix of goofy and awesome! There is always comedy like when Daniel Power dresses up as flava flave, speaks like John Wayne, and sings like Elvis, or when there are bible themed pick up lines handed out that the teenager then decides on the way home hes going to use, or my personal favorite the 35 all time favorite love song mix members from our praise band put together! But I sit in awe at the talent some people have for performing. Some of the kids sang, some recited john 1:1-5, some played the piano. One of the ladies from my Sunday school class blessed my heart by playing the violin. Every time she plays it makes me wish I had stuck with playing the cello. It makes me want to pick it back up again. Then there is Glenn Allen Bailey and he also holds a special place in my heart because he befriended Maddie Lue Ingram and they shared their gift of music with us. Every time i hear him sing it makes me long to hear Maddie singing along side him or playing piano. Not to mention there are not very many twenty something guys who would come along side a little girl to help her practice and play piano for her when she sings in the talent show. Such a nice guy and a blessing to our church. I know Ive rambled a lot tonight and Im sorry. I wish that more people could see thus side of Church and Christians. The real people who mess up a lot but who are willing to walk with you when your life is a mess and when your life is great. And I also wish I could gather my biological family from Texas and Mississippi and Georgia and wherever else in the same place. This weekend was about family and although I got to spend most of it with my adopted church family, that also made me long for time with the rest of my family and for the two families to just be one in one place. I think God would be pleased with that too. Love to all, goodnight.
