We have a good excuse for not raking and mulching leaves yet this Fall. The city is surveying our yard with survey flags that will need to stay up for a couple of weeks. They are doing a big drainage culvert replacement in our backyard next summer and the second photo at the stick in the distance is where they have offered to construct a rain garden which will be good for the drain overflow and if Im not mistaken will be put in with all the plants as a water garden demonstration plot, with construction and plants free. All we have to do is maintain it and its not very hard work. Yes, good things happen to bad people. and also the reverse! :) Weve needed to do something to that corner since no trees or other plants will grow in that wet area. This looks like a very good option and it saves polluting the creek where our whole neighborhood drains! :)
