We have a wonderful adopter waiting for a dog! The problem is she is in Stockbridge, VT. A very responsible family who has waited for their daughter to grow up before they committed, they do own one elderly cat. They do not have a fenced yard but PHR Inc. takes this case by case, many of our adopters do not have fenced yards. The only thing we have left for this family is the home check....usually by the time we get to the home check our, our stellar adopters are pretty much secured (we have a very strict adoption process). SO we have two options, to find a dog here or close to them....transport that far can certainly be a pain in the butt when one works long hours and doesnt have time to coordinate it so Id like to consider finding this family a dog a little closer. Hubby likes Rottie types while the wife prefers a pitty type, though they are open to just about anything, male or female, etc. However I would like to see them get a pit type..naturally!!! They do want to adopt through Pit Happens due to the fact that I am very anal when it comes to matching dogs and people-finally anal has become an honor!! I have all kind of ideas running through my brain on how to do this but I would think basically Id like to recruit a foster in that area to work with me in looking and then fostering to ensure he or she is the right match. If not, no worries, we have a very good success rate in placement. I do pay for dog food, vetting, etc. This is just an IDEA. If worse comes to worse Ill find a dog here...currently have my eye on three that may be a good fit. Must be good with cats, and they have a 10 year old child. Any assistance or even ideas is always welcome!! Please email PitHappensRescue@gmail if you have a dog in mind...(I get a lot of messages on facebook and my not see your suggestion). Thanks!!
