We have an exhausted but happy household tonight after attending our local Relay For Life this weekend ! It was an amazing, emotional, joyful, grieving time all rolled into one. The Candlelight Ceremony (where bags with the names of people affected by cancer are lit up with candles along the track) was an extremely moving experience for me. I dont *try* and be strong - I just function the best I can to travel this journey - but this event of the weekend cut me to the core. The tears just haemorrhaged out of me. I cried and cried and cried and just couldnt stop. I cried for what Quinn has endured; for lives lost to cancer; for the uncertainty of the future. I cried because I am so grateful that Quinn fulfilled her goal from a year ago to participate in the Survivor Walk. I cried like I hadnt done for months. I cried because I needed to.... A huge THANKS to everyone who supported us directly and indirectly at Relay For Life this weekend - The St.Albans Angels team for letting us tag along; event organisers, sponsors and volunteers; people who cheered us on the track, introduced themselves to us, donated to the cause, pushed Quinn in her wheelchair and entertained her, wiped my tears. CANCER SUCKS - Ro ♥
