We have been deeply concerned about some of your statements placed on facebook which reflect a lack of understanding for the situation that we find ourselves in. Please understand that we are as devastated as you are at the prospect that we may be left with no choice but to euthanise two of our much-loved chimpanzees. We have done everything within our power since 25 April to find a solution that would prevent this and will continue to do so. Our statement issued on 8 May was totally transparent and honest as was our bid yesterday to raise sufficient funds to keep the two chimps in a secure, specially built enclosure. We cannot offer any guarantees but we can offer our absolute assurance that we are sparing no effort to save our chimps. To those who have supported us, our heartfelt thanks.
