We have been watching Jonathon for a few months because he was Vit D deficient a few months ago. We were instructed to give 400 ius of a supplement each day. When he was under anesthesia Fri they drew labs again for that, iron and ferritin because he is a horrible sleeper (Ive slept through night fewer than 5 times in the last 18 months). He had a doctors appointment today and all the levels are low. So he is doing a big 6 week dose of 2000 ius of Vit D to boost it and then also a special iron supplement that the pharmacy had to order. The nurse at the hospital Friday told me that he looked yellow .... guess it was the low iron? :(
