We have had a great day here in Lake City! It started off with a good southern style breakfast at Hutchs, which is in an old Texaco building. The log walls are filled with old metal signs and all sorts of charm. Then, Brandon went fly fishing with another fellow Okie while Avery and I played cards with some other friends and Mimi, Case, and Bray played tractors. After lunch, my mom and I took the kids to a very unique zoo located in the backyard of one of the local couples that live here year round. Karen paints animals on rocks, metal, and wood and then puts them on display in her zoo for people to come visit. She has a North America section, an Africa section, an Artic section, etc. The kids loved looking at all of her animals and walking on her trails. She lets each kid that visits name an animal. Braylin named the big hippopotamus Hippy and Avery named a calf Bella after a calf that we once had. Caysen just wanted to name them all Rebel because hes one of our dogs and Case calls every animal with four legs Rebel! While we were there, we saw a marmot sunning up on a rock, a hummingbird moth, 2 big bucks lying nearby under a porch, and played on some 4 wheelers. This evening, we grilled steaks and had a picnic outside. Avery was so proud of how she set the table and Bray had a good time buttering the corn. Case thought he needed to help too, so he checked out everything underneath the camper and found things to take to Daddy. After dinner, we took the older two fishing out at the lake while Mimi took Case for a ride out to the lake to watch and wind down for bed time. Nobody caught any fish, but we all had fun anyway. Hopefully when we go again, theyll be biting. I took a lot of pictures today, so enjoy!
