We have had a lot of enquiries in regards to eligibility to play - TopicsExpress

We have had a lot of enquiries in regards to eligibility to play QLD Samoa Tag 20 from those who play OZTAG. Basically we as an organisation are not here to put down other sporting codes as we are all about community, culture, unity & family. To all those interested in representing any nation in the sport of Tag 20 the choice is yours. Know your rights & be informed. It is illegal for an amateur sporting code to ban you from representing your country. It is also in breach of SportAccords non discrimination statute. I would really question: 1.The validity of an international sporting body that discriminates against amateur athletes on the grounds of who they associate with. 2. Ineligibility rules which contravene human rights laws, as well as both the Olympic Charter and SportAccord* non discrimination statutes. sportaccord/en/ 3. Why these same ineligible rules do not extend to modules where their affiliated NZTFI and Oztag organisations seem quite willing to take money from the affected players. *SportAccord is ‘the umbrella organisation for both Olympic and non-Olympic international sports federations as well as organisers of international sporting events.’ This ban is in breach of their non-discrimination statute, article 3.1....‘Sport Accord and its Members reject all forms and means of discrimination against individuals, groups of people, organisations or countries on grounds of ethnic origin, gender, language, religion, politics and on any other grounds.’ We welcome all players from all sports to participate, without bias.
