We have had lots of lovely and supportive comments over the last few weeks from 99% of the people on the beach. We do seem to have upset the other 1%, however, by restricting the access to the beach by having builders vans parked on the slipway. I apologise for this. When the work first started, we had the option of closing off the slipway completely to give the builders exclusive access to the site, or keeping it open to allow the public to get to the beach (as opposed to using the steps at the toilet-block end). We opted to keep it open, with the best of intentions. The last 5 months have been stressful beyond belief, and we are devastated that we have lost a really great summer of trading. We are doing our best to complete the building work as quickly as possible, and to cause as little inconvenience to our customers as is necessary.
