We have here an account on Facebook to draw attention to the fate of the dogs living with Jimmy Samaras. We want the city of Thessaloniki, and in particular the local authorities of Perea, Thermi, Mikra, Mixaniona, Kalamaria to undertake their legal responsibility to care for the animals and not and relieve the load from the shoulders of the 83 year old Jimmy Samaras! The fate of the animals at Jimmy has been known for decades, not only in Greece but worldwide thanks to youtube. Our desire is to improve the lives of not only the animals but also for Jimmy Samaras. At 83 years of age he has earned the right to spend his final years living in decent conditions. His house has no heating, and what if something happens to Jimmy Samaras? The city of Thessaloniki has to fulfill its responsibilities and take care of the animals at Jimmy’s ! This is Greek law! Only Greek citizens, and in particular the residents of the city can bring this to the notice of their local authority! Foreigners can only help you in this fight, If you are disturbed by the state of the conditions at Jimmy Samaras’ please urge the Thermi police to do their duty. We are particularly concerned about: The huge amount of garbage outside the gate, the dead animals in garbage bags in front and in the yard. The rats around and on the premises, which can transmit rabies and other diseases. This is all illegal, as it is not allowed to keep this large number of dogs without a license. You must be registered as a breeder or a shelter to keep this number of animals living together – most un-neutered. In the swimming pool many animals die each year as a result of drowning or hypothermia. For a swimming pool a tax must be paid which is probably not being paid. The pool is not being used anyway and should be filled in. We have not registered here to raise funds, or to write disparaging comments about Jimmy Samras. If somebody wants to write on the page he must write factually and be able to prove that what writes is correct.
