We have partnered up with Keedo International (Pty) Ltd and started a Keedo Prem Project. We have women from the Atlantis area whom are unemployed (they previously worked in the textile industry) who make Keedo Ragdolls. These dolls are dressed in premature clothes which a mother can also dress her baby in. A large percentage of every doll sold is then donated to that specific hospital on a monthly basis. The NICU or maternity ward will compile a wish list of items needed and we will ensure that they receive these items. Every year there are 41000 births at Mediclinics in South Africa alone, 11000 of these are premature births. The premature birth statistics at government hospitals are even higher. The dolls are packaged in a sealed plastic bag which means that a mother will be able to place the doll at her babies’ bed in NICU. The Keedo Prem Project will create an awareness regarding premature babies, some causes, etc. We already have the support of Mediclinic South Africa to roll out the project at all the Mediclinics. The next step would be to involve all government hospitals. This is a non-profit project for Keedo.
