We have received many calls about this particular scam and there have been some residents that unfortunately have fallen victim to this scam recently. The IRS would NOT call and demand money. NEVER NEVER give personal information like bank account information over the phone.. Please let other family members or friends, know about this scam and remind them to JUST HANG UP!!! IRS agents will NEVER ask for credit card or bank account information BY PHONE, will never threaten enforcement action if a payment isnt immediately made, and they WILL NOT require a consumer to use a SPECIFIC PAYMENT METHODS : LIKE A PREPAID CARD.
