We have the ability to tag elements. #FHIR #tags allow you to attach a resource outside a resource. It doesnt break the signature by doctor. Can use it for security classification Sensitive Can attach a new profile later on. Can attach a business rule requirement later on, e.g. this requires review by Dr. Smith. Tag is attached to the binary document not in a document. Cant search by tag if one was not attached by author. Q. Do tags have a type? A. It is a string of stuff. [need to verify this] Tags persist for now. Has to be discussed more by FHIR design team. P.S. note by Jackie: maybe would be nice to have different tag types - some that persist and some that dont. #FHIR allows versions to be tracked. Decide whether you want to do it as an audit trail. Perhaps for drug database, you do have to track versions. A version ID can be a unique date-time stamp, UUID, etc. May have to do a query for the most recent time stamp e.g. for latest phone number and address. A version is a stack, you can only put stuff on top. Cant change 2 of 5, you can only create 6. You can register extensions with HL7 or at a local level. Consider the scope of it as to where to register. Is there a need for restricted access? Do you want to keep it confidential anyway? If not, the more exposure the more use it will get.
