We have until the 25th of this month before these changes take place. The urgency is this. There are 2 quailified AbA with Dr or masters in San Antonio. They DO NOT do ABA therapy . They run hospital programs , and give lectures to schools . They are not providers. Secondly every 6 months children with ASD will have to be tested ( at mom and dads cost but by a DP) this is at least 2-3 grand per testing . Then aba can still be denied if the child has not progressed enough, has progressed too much , does not progress at all or parents do not prove that they are using ABA to the testing standard. These are just 2 of the changes. ABA is a proven therapy for ASD that WORKS! They are simply making it too difficult to get a provider , to pay for and continue with care. This will cut cost but most kids with ASD will pay the price. The only other options are no care at all or long term living facilities . ABA teaches these kids ( over years not months) how to speak how to communicte how to live in with an Autistic brain and thrive in the ordinary world.
