We have warned Nigerians severally to beware of Agence France Presse. They are indeed capable of sinister motive and calculated attempt to put and set Nigerians against themselves. When AFP is not getting a video from Shekau today, tomorrow they will be reporting a fake concocted hatred story and lie from the pit of hell. What even pains me most is to see Nigerian news media depend on these international news media like AFP, CNN, Aljazeera, BBC, Rfi for news happening even in our own backyard. In our own compound even. And they (Nigerian media) wont even bother to crosscheck the facts and separate the wheat from the shaft, they will just hurry to the press by copy-pasting and/or paraphrasing those stories lazily. It appears to me that investigative journalism died in Nigeria with the late letter-bombed Dele Giwa. Our country is now replete with brown envelop and lazy journalists whose stock in trade are blatant yellow journalism and partisan party propaganda, worst still rumour peddling. I hope our Fourth Estate of the Realm is still redeemable. If we dont redeem them together with our Judiciary, the Third Arm of Government, we may as well forgo and forget about our national cohesion, stability, freedom, progress and social justice.
